Coming up with a name took a lot of thinking. Bella Lin, a college friend of mine from Taiwan used to tell me, "Don't think too much" and then she'd turn around and tell me, "You think too much!". I guess I do sometimes get carried away in my thoughts trying to solve the worlds problems and such.
How I finally arrived at the title of Simply & Honestly was just my way of saying what I have to say is just me being me. The honest part of me and the simple part of me. No sense of pretense (and yes I just had to look that word up to make sure I was using it correctly!).
Along those lines one time in a Sunday School class my husband and I were attending at the time the leader asked an ice breaker. "If it was in your power and you could have anything you wanted, what would you wish for?" Some people replied things like they wished they could have all the chocolate they wanted and not gain a pound ect. When my turn came around I said I would want to see peace in the world and no more wars. To which Steve, my husband pipes up and says,"What are you running for Miss. America?" And the whole class erupts into laughter! But seriously the night before I'd been watching the news and seeing wars all over the world. Refugees were running from their homes and my heart really went out to them! It was still fresh on my mind, hence my wish!
I'll close with this. On The Message on XM Radio there's been a quote they've been plugging, it says, "Don't think less about yourself, think of yourself less." (Looked it up originally from C.S. Lewis and the whole quote is: "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less."). Thanks for just letting be myself!
